MediaWatchApp app for iPhone and iPad

This app is used by panelists to participate in the market research within panel from GfK.

- This app allows only registered panelists to sign in with their unique id + password.
- Once signed in, the app receives the parameters of the participation period for the panelist.
- During the participation period the app will record acoustic-fingerprints from the microphone and send it to the servers of GfK.

- The user can at any time stop or restart the recording of acoustic-fingerprints from the "Start" and "Stop" buttons in the main screen.
- The user can configure for how long he wants the audio processing in background to run
- The user can prioritise the data transmission over wifi.
- The user can at any time change the configuration parameters

- This app requires background mode for audio, as the main functionality is a continuous audio processing into matchable acoustic-fingerprints. This extraction task is performed by our proprietary library "libfpextractor".
- This app accesses the accelerometer to know if the panelist is carrying his phone.
- This app accesses the battery status to disable the background service and acoustic-fingerprint generation if the battery charge is lower than a configurable threshold (typically 30%). Thus reducing drastically the current consumption of this app when the battery charge is low.
- The data transfer to the servers will happen when the watch is being charged, or at least once every 18 hours.
